Helping people run.
I help beginner runners stay consistent and build confidence so they can reach their running goals, stop comparing themselves to others, and find their own running journey.
Why should I have a running coach?
If you’ve been running for years, or if you’ve never tried but want to, a coach can be a huge help to your training.
As your coach, I design a customized training plan for you. With the monthly coaching plan, you will receive an entire month of personalized workouts, and unlimited messaging with me. I will also make any adjustments to your workout plan if your schedule changes or you miss a workout!
We can have calls to discuss goals, training, and talk through running information (such as fueling, gear, stretches, recovery, etc.).
Accountability is key to forming a new habit, and with a coach, you will have someone who creates your workouts and holds you to them.
Why Work with Me?
At age 22 I had to have foot surgery due to an old injury. I have always been active, and dabbled in running during college, but it wasn’t until surgery that I fell in love with running.
I had to go two weeks with as little walking or movement as possible, and then was able to start adding in short walks, a few minutes a day.
It was an incredibly difficult process, and I bought a Garmin watch to help motivate me. It helped me to see how much progress I was making each day and each week.
As I was going through the recovery process, I was filled with gratitude each day I was able to walk further than the day before. That gratitude has continued to this day with every run I do.
After I was fully recovered, I decided to start running. While I had run a few miles here and there in the past, I never had a consistent running plan, or trained for a race.
I started working my way up to a 5K, starting with walking 5 minutes and running 2 minutes - and that felt hard!
Getting to running 3 miles straight felt impossible at the beginning, but then I saw how much progress being consistent can make!
6 months after foot surgery, I was regularly running 3 miles several times a week. I even increased a run or two a week over that summer to 7 miles! A year later, I had signed up for my first half marathon as my first ever race!
From then, I was hooked. There were so many times I had told myself I couldn’t run. But I kept working at it, and I got there. My passion is helping others find this same joy, compassion, and belief in themselves that I have found through running.
Have you ever told yourself you couldn’t be a runner? Do you compare yourself to others, beat yourself up over your pace? Do you struggle to run consistently, and feel like you never improve?
